Rudy Giuliani’s answer to everything

Tonight, during the youtube / CNN debate, I had to smirk at one of his answers. Rudy Giuliani made a ‘funny’ response on a question about his loyalty to the NY Yankees and why he cheered on the Red Sox during the playoffs. He said something to the effect of, “I’ll remind you that when I was mayor of NY, the Yankees won the Championship 4 times. Since being Mayor, they haven’t won the world series!”
I know he was just joking, but the kind of logic reminds me of this family guy snippet:
Rudy Giuliani, “President of 9/11″ and the reason the Yankees won four national titles! I wonder what’s going to happen with that latest scandal about misusing taxpayer dollars to fund his sexcapades in NY? Maybe Americans will look the other way, the way they’ve overlooked Valerie Plame Wilson’s outting, the Katrina massive government response failure, Alberto Gonzales’ lies, the U.S. Attorney firing scandals, Karl Rove’s role in all of these major scandals, the Libby conviction and pardon by Bush, and oh let’s not forget the false information fed the public while the President attempted to sell the Iraq invasion to the U.S. and world.
Given what we know about the Bush Administration scandals, isn’t Giuliani’s indiscretion just another drop in the bucket?

Dennis Kucinich’s wife is smokin’ hot

There are few candidates that I can appreciate on the level that I do Dennis Kucinich. He makes me want to be a better man, his politics are sound, his heart is in the right place and his wife.. man his wife is hot!
I’d probably vote for the guy because he’s just an all around all-star, but would anyone hold it against me if I voted for him because of his hot babe of a wife? Who wouldn’t want her beautiful mug on the cover of magazines and in the TV all the time? The best part is she went to grad school, educated, has a ’save the world’ good heart mentality and is well spoken and a great accent to boot!

“That’s my privilege, not yours!”

Al Qaida will murder your grandma and rape your dog if don’t vote for Rudy Giuliani!
What a tool, I don’t understand the fascination with this man in some circles. He represents everything that is wrong with America and happens to be the GOP’s best hope at making it into the White House? Oh, how our standards have fallen.
and you thought George Bush was a loser

the Nexus of Politics and Terror

Politics, particularly on the GOP side has gained a nasty reputation for being propelled by ‘fear-driven’ propaganda. If I hadn’t heard it with my own ears, I might call the claim of ‘fear-driven’ politics a false claim or one based on propaganda itself. However, our President and current GOP leaders who are front-runners in the primary nomination, make no apologies for using the kind of rhetoric that has pinned the GOP in a corner over the Bush years.
What is most fascinating to me, is that they don’t see how detrimental this “fear-mongering” is. While, I recognize that “fear-mongering” is a propaganda driven statement, what they do is frighten Americans into submission. The problem that they seem oblivious to, is that people who have their backs against the walls (un-American liberal pussies) are in a fight or flight situation. If you take a look at the liberal movement right now, they are in fight mode.. they aren’t running away from anything no matter what GOP strategists would have you believe.
In the eyes of most liberals, the GOP is a bigger threat to America than any 3rd world terrorist ever was. They believe, and I to a certain extent, that the far right has harmed our nation far more than Al Qaida did on September 11th. It seems like an extreme and irrational statement to be made and even more difficult to defend, but the current ‘feel’ in America is that the GOP is the party of ‘evil’ and anything or anyone would make for a better candidate than another Bush-clone. Oddly enough, Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney have done their best impressions of President Bush and are trying to run on the ‘fear-driven’ agenda that has brought the GOP to its knees.
Not this time, my Republican friends, not this time.

at least, that’s the word on the streets…
NAACP Presidential Debate, Republican representation was pathetic!
Does it mean they aren’t interested in the ‘plight’ of African Americans in a WASP controlled America or is it a thing of principle? Traditional conservatives would argue that they don’t believe in making distinctions based on race, and groups like the NAACP do just that.
However, today’s Republicans are a far cry from Republicans that rallied around Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater. As Ron Paul likes to say, “the Republican party has lost its way…,” I’d have to agree with his assessment. In the 21st century, if you are interested in limited government and fiscal responsibility, you’d probably be better off electing a “tax and spend” liberal.
